My First Kin

My first ever kin is one that is probably the most commonly shifted kintype of mine, as I'm always shifted as him. This kin, of course, is Goth Boy.

Goth Boy is from a small and somewhat obscure Sims series called MySims. He appears in almost all the games in the series, often as a minor character. The style of the game isn't like the regular Sims games, it's got a more of a "manga" style (as described by the game creators.) This game is a huge comfort for me and was one of the first video games I ever consistently played.

Goth boy is shown as a depressed goth guy who is into writing poetry. In the base game he has the traits of loving spooky and liking geeky. He also talks about moving into the player's town to escape the bullies in his hometown. His dialogue is often about darkness, sadness/loneliness, or poetry.

From the first time I saw Goth Boy I got kin feelings. I didn't know what they were, so I figured I just liked him a lot and just wanted to be him for no reason in particular. (Haha.) Once I learned more about him throughout the games I played with him in it, I began to be more obsessed with him but for reasons I didn't know. Something about him felt right with me, felt like he was me, and he is.

My memories for him are a little bit confusing sometimes. Sometimes they're like the base game, and others it's like an AU with a more realistic life to it. I definitely remember the bullying and changing to a more edgy appearance to try and get rid of them, but it didn't work too well. Out of those I miss are Ray, Violet, Buddy, Yuki, and Cassandra. I remember having romantic feelings for both Ray and Buddy, but only ever dating Ray as Buddy was intimidated by me.

Cassandra was a childhood friend of mine who passed away due to something I can't remember. I talked to her as I continued on and was able to interact with her to some extent. Violet was just a friend, as well as Yuki. Yuki was a little too high-energy for me sometimes, but I still treasured her as a friend. Violet was polite and felt like she somewhat understood me. Ray... Gosh, I really miss him.

Since he is my most shifted kin, I go online usually by his name shortened (Goth Boy = GB) and have for a while. I got rid of it and changed it for my regular non-kin related things, but still go by it now in the community/my own kin related spaces. It saddens me that my source is rather obscure, so I don't know of any other people who have a fictotype(s) from it other than myself.

This is all I have for this topic at the moment. I'll most likely revisit it, but also will talk about my other kins in this similar sort of summary as well in the future.
