25 Kin Related Asks (pt. 1)

Here are the first 25 of a total of 50 kin related ask questions from a post that I believe was originally by cinderpelt-storm on Tumblr. I am answering them also including my fictotypes.

1. What was your first kintype?

My first kintype was Goth Boy from MySims.

2. What was it like discovering you were otherkin?

It was somewhat intimidating and relieving at the same time. I was relieved to have a title for what I felt, but I was worried about gatekeepers and somehow being mistaken. But I feel it so strongly, I know this is what I am.

3. Do/does your kintype(s) impact your personality/actions in any way? If so, how?

Somewhat? It truly depends on the situation, I think.

4. What kintype(s) interest you most?

Excluding my own, I think bug/insect kintypes interest me the most.

5. What do you like most about your own kintype(s)?

I like how they are a part of me and influence how I am. They are me, so it makes sense. I don't entirely know how to explain what I mean, but I tried.

6. What do you dislike most about your own kintype(s)?

I dislike my "hidden" kin. I don't like how he's such a big part of me, which is why he is hidden and I don't talk about him at all. I also dislike all the bad memories I'm reminded of that comes from my kintypes.

7. Are you questioning any kintype(s)? If so, which one(s)?

As of 12/15/2020, I am questioning moths, Mothman (Cryptid), Brad Majors (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Ash Williams (Evil Dead II), Curt Connors (Ultimate Spider-Man), and Arthur Everest (The Tick Amazon Prime Series).

8. What is your favorite kin-related memory or thought?

Probably any of my romantic fluff memories with my kintypes. They comfort me a lot.

9. Do you have any phantom limbs? What are they?

Yes! For Laadrixx I have a phantom tail and back spikes. Also not limbs, but I also have phantom fangs for my vampire kintype.

10. What kind of things make your certain kintypes happy?

My red turtleneck sweater makes Fiddleford happy as it reminds him of Stanford, Byakuya often is happy when I've done something productive academically, talking to the Night Mother makes Cicero happy, etc. Mostly things that remind them of their core values or their lifetime.

11. What is your favorite uncommon kintype?

Probably Goth Boy.

12. What is your favorite common kintype?

I think my only common kintype is Byakuya Togami from Danganronpa Trigger Happy Havoc besides being a vampire. I suppose I like the vampire more.

13. How did you find out you were otherkin?

I learned about fictionkin originally from my friend, and I researched and looked into the community, branching off into otherkin as well. Later I ended up awakening as a vampire, therefore making me otherkin. Although some people don't consider them otherkin. I do.

14. What activities do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?

Goth Boy enjoys reading and writing poetry, Fiddleford enjoys playing the banjo, Seymour enjoys taking care of plants, Raven enjoys meditating, etc.

15. What kind of weather do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?

Most of them tend to like cooler weather rather than hot weather.

16. What types of places do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?

Laadrixx loves open fields with cool breezes. My fictotypes all like the kinds of places that they interacted within their time. Harrison tends to enjoy his apartment as it's the only place he feels safe.

17. What kinds of food do/does your kintype(s) like?

Food that tastes somewhat like blood is what my vampire kintype likes the most. Laadrixx likes meat as he's mostly carnivorous. Most of the others tend to like regular human food.

18. Do you tell people outside of social media about your kintypes?

I have told my IRL friends about it, that's about it.

19. What, if any, attributes of yourself remind you of your kintype(s)?

I'm not entirely sure. I suppose my poetry reminds me of Goth Boy, and my appearance reminds me of vampires.

20. What kind of things make your kinfeels stronger?

For my vampire kintype, it's my fangs that make my kinfeels stronger for that type. They give me a sense of euphoria and often gets me shifty.

21. What types of company do/does your kintype(s) enjoy?

Laadrixx likes being in the company of other non-human entities, although is distrusting of others.

22. Do you like the blogs about recipes for certain kin?

Yes, I think they can be cool and helpful for those looking for that kind of thing.

23. Do you like the blogs about clothing/fashion for kin?

I haven't seen any of those, but that would interest me.

24. Do any certain music types appeal to your kin(s)? If so, what kind(s)?

Darker genres of music appeal to Goth Boy, and more upbeat EDM appeals to Holt Hyde. Country also appeals to Fiddleford too. Classical and 50s/60s music appeals to Laadrixx as it's what he was most exposed to, human music-wise.

25. How many kintypes do you have?

As of 12/15/2020 I have 18 kintypes (counting Jackson/Holt as one unit), 16 of them being fictotypes.
